Recycle Better in your Ugly Sweater, City of Saskatoon

Agency
Ion Brand Design

Role
Art Direction, Production

In late 2019, the City of Saskatoon approached Ion for help with a new holiday recycling campaign, including art direction, key messaging, and production for their upcoming winter season.

This project was a highlight for my career as a communications designer. We had the opportunity to go big with a long-time client that wanted a creative, fun, and unique holiday marketing campaign to reduce waste during the gift-giving season. Following a collaborative workshop with our design team led by David Coates, and a few days of iteration later, I had circled the tagline “recycle better in your ugly sweater” and pitched the idea to our team. We presented rough concepts to the client and my direction was chosen. I then photographed and produced the supporting brand collateral shown on a few (faux) ugly sweaters featuring myself and one other team member as reluctant models. It was a blast to collaborate with our entire team on this project and enjoy a few laughs throughout the process.
