
Town of Barrhead
Following two workshops led by Rod Roodenburg and Casey Hrynkow, Ion Brand Design captured feedback from an enthusiastic and motivated group of local community members. We learned that Barrhead’s culture revolves around local craft, recreation, and history – and these values were carried forward in the brand development and strategy.
My approach was to reference historical typography and artifacts as seen around the town to develop a wordmark that balances the forward-thinking ideals of the council, as well as the values shared from the community members. The brand was expanded into an eclectic but conservative mix of colour, patterns, and supporting typography with a hint of patina.
